My Funny Valentine

We just returned from a getaway to Asheville, a wonderful mountain town about an hour and half away from Newton. There was much to celebrate- Ben's first Valentine's Day, the anniversary of Mark's marriage proposal (and Leah's acceptance!) and the one year anniversary of owning our home. We had a great time playing together as a family and managed to handle the cold just fine. Ben is growing more expressive and chatty as the days go by...his newest nickname is "Button" after his round little birthmark on the top of his head. So, from Button and the gang we send lots of Valentine's love!!

Four Months

Ben is officially four months old this week and we are officially, completely in love with this kid. He had his doctor check-up (and shots) on Friday and weighed in at 14 1/2 pounds and is now anywhere from 24-25 inches long...you try getting an accurate measurement of a squirrely naked boy! We also tried out a "baby toupee" with Mommy's hair to see what our little baldly might look like down the road.

Winter Days

Winter has finally arrived in Newton. We even had our first snow day this week- it totaled all 1/4" of snowfall and the whole town shut down! It was a great excuse to bundle up at home and cuddle. Ben was wonderful on his trip to California last week with Mom (thanks to the Alta Properties Girls for all your help). After about 2 hours of "freedom" Mark was ready for his family to return.
