Springtime

Spring is making an arrival with trees blossoming, tulips and iris blooming and lots of grass for Mark to mow! Ben is excited to announce the birth of his new cousin, Noah Adam Patrick Smith, born on March 23rd. Ben can't wait to visit him in Orange County this summer and also meet his "big cousin" Nick. Ben got sick for the first time this weekend with a stomach virus, it was a rough couple of days but we are happy to announce the little guy is feeling much better (the bottom picture is from his sick bed). We are so thankful our family doctor, Dr. Michael, is a dear friend. Leah called him multiple times at home and he was always kind and patient with our worry and questions. Dr. Michael even called before he went out for the evening to make sure we had his cell number should we need to reach him. His support was such a comfort for these first time parents. Happy Spring!

Adventures in Feeding

Ben has discovered the pleasures of food...all over his face. He is excited for meal time in his highchair and those chubby cheeks attest to his love of rice cereal and carrots. Leah is having to breathe deeply and let the mess of meal time transpire, it makes it easier that Beemer enjoys it all so much.

Beemer Boy

Every morning Ben greets us with a smile ready to start the day and have some fun. We think he will be a morning person like his mom. Ben is stubborn when it comes to smiling for the camera, just like his Dad and Uncle Adam. Right AFTER the camera clicks he laughs and giggles. We treasure anytime his little smile is captured on film. We were in Target last night (where we spent a grand total of $11.00-a record low for any Target excursion) and Ben sat enthroned in his stroller squawking and squealing up and down the aisles bidding his subjects to and fro, it was very funny and a little too true. Unitra, his sweet caretaker from the nursery at church says, "He's not spoiled, he's just loved." May we all feel that way every now and then.
