Girl Time

This past week Leah's closest friends from Saratoga, Maria and Raquel, traveled all the way cross country to spend 48 hours at Casa Watson. It was a much needed girl time of chatting, laughing and remembering.

Even though Ben was sick, Clara had a case of the fussies and we rarely ventured out of the house (or off the sofa) we had a great time just being together with sweet tea, brownies and burp cloths.

Maria and Raquel: Thank you so much for bringing so much sunshine during this crazy time. We love you and come back soon and stay longer...but we will take any time we can get!

Two Much Fun

Ben turned the corner this week and officially became Big Brother. If Clara starts to cry he comes running to check on his baby sis. Be sure to check out Ben's boo-boo picture above, he took his band-aid very seriously.

Everyday brings lots of overwhelming moments of cuteness and love. Sometimes things are so chaotic we just look at each other and laugh.

Clara has slept seven hours straight the last two nights- can you see us crossing our fingers through cyber space?

One Month

On her original due date of May 1st we celebrated Clara's first month with us. She is spending more time awake and her little personality is emerging. Clara is always moving and making all sorts of funny noises, asleep or awake. There is a constant chorus of giggles, grunts, sighs and coos. Maybe she will be a chatterbox...no idea where that trait could have come from (!).

Ben is getting used to the idea that Clara is here to stay. He is starting to "help" take care of her and checks on his little sis throughout the day. The highlight of the past week occurred when Clara made Ben laugh for the first time, it was a glimmer of all the fun to come.

Ben is discovering so many new things and talking up a storm. He has mastered opening and closing the doors in our house. This is a tricky task for those of you who have stayed at Casa Watson, we have the original glass doorknobs and everyone has to be twisted a little differently to open. His current favorite is to go around the house and gather all sorts of items and stash them in mom's closet, thankfully he can't lift Clara yet.

Spring has arrived in full bloom and it is gorgeous, we wake up in the morning to a chorus of birdsong. Mark and Leah are excited to have their first date night since Clara arrived later this week. A wonderful advantage of small town life is, just like our first outing after Ben was born, the babysitter will be our pediatrician and his wife-can't beat that!
