Wild Thing

Since turning one, Clara has morphed into Little Miss Spunky. She still has her sweet, easy going ways, but that is now shared with a sassy streak ready for fun and mischief. She loves to laugh, play, chatter and stay on the move. The most often said phrase at the house is, "Where is Clara?" and Ben goes around the house singing "Wild Thing" in honor of his baby sister. We think this wild ride has just begun...

Pop Pop

Leah's dad (Pop Pop) came out for a visit this past week and had a fun time with the his grandkids. The highlight for Ben was his new baseball glove and bat, he had to learn that you don't use them at the same time. Clara charmed her Pop Pop, getting spoiled rotten with cuddles, books and snacks. Mark and Leah continue to be thankful for all his handyman help around the house. Pop Pop is tops!

Sweet Polka Dot Dreams

Ben has made the move to his big boy bed. It has become his little raft of safety and security. It is the only spot where he is allowed to have his pacifier (our next task to tackle), it features a growing mound of blankies and books tucked here and there, bedtime cuddles with mommy are adored by both parties...and his sheets have yellow polka dots. What more could a boy want?

We made a chart for him to earn stickers for staying in bed, working towards an ice cream date at Udderly Delicious...which Ben calls "Ice Cream Cow." He so loves his big boy nest that we aren't sure the chart was necessary, but he did get his date. Poor Mark, he had been looking forward to ice cream all week (it is homemade and super yummy), then Clara was running a fever that day(teething), so we all couldn't go, then Ben made the choice to take Mommy and no persuasion could change his mind (Leah tried, really).

Leah cherished this special time with a boy that is growing and changing, each and every day. The banana pudding ice cream was divine too. Ben, every step you take into big boy world makes us hold you even closer in our hearts as our baby, our sunshine. Sweet dreams.
