Christmas is Coming

Christmas celebrating is in full swing over here— we have decked our halls (including our traditional root beer and snickerdoodle snacking while trimming the tree), headed to the downtown square for the annual tree lighting (squeezing the kids into the double stroller for the last time, sniff, sniff…), our elf Maurice has returned and surprises us each morning with a new perch, our advent countdown brings daily new adventures to celebrate the season and we have enjoyed our first flurry of snowflakes. In true December fashion, sickness has descended upon all of us, with Ben and Leah getting the biggest hit.  However, if you are sick, there is no better comfort than snuggling up by the Christmas tree with a mug of hot cocoa or a bowl of peppermint ice cream, favorite yuletide tunes jamming and allowing the cozy magic to soothe your weary body.

Ben quote of the week:

Leah:  Ben, what three ornaments would you want from our tree when you are older and have a tree of your own?

Ben: None.  When I grow-up, I am going to have lots and lots of money and buy my own ornaments.
