Our trip to Kauai was magical, wonderful and renewing. There is simply nothing better than having an adventure as a family, especially an adventure that includes Doug and Ashlee. All those crazy weddings I oversaw last summer were worth every moment of island fun.

Ben had saved up his money to go on a helicopter ride with his dad. The day after we were walking and talking and I asked him, “You could have gotten a big Lego set buddy, was it worth saving up for the ride?” He enthusiastically answered it was totally worth it and wanted to start a new goal of what experience he wanted to save for next. If we had it our way, it would be saving for this exact trip all over again.

Thank you for sharing in the fun of our trip and in my wishes for starting off 39 with a heart full of gratitude and joy. I loved hearing how Kauai is a special, sacred place to so many people. We are included in that bunch for sure. It was an incredible vacation and a fantastic birthday. Now, if I could just find someone to take hula lessons with me...
